Session 12 - The Key: Concessions
The key to developments in connecting to each other in our relationships is mutual concessions, but learning the principles of mutual guarantee should be gradual.
First we must learn human psychology: the psychology of individuals, then the psychology of two friends, the psychology of couples, parent-child relationships, our attitude toward neighbors, relatives, and so forth—meaning all those among which there is mutual criticism. From this we will gradually reach out into broader circles. This relationship building will even be in our work places, implementing how we are to be in mutual guarantee in every level of life, stretching to our relationships internationally, between nations and the rest of the entire world.
In other words, there should be a gradual activation of impression happening here, from close and accessible things that we can understand and feel, thus acquiring experience and sharpening our new sense of perception, toward broader circles, further away from us. Finally, we will learn which countries can unite with one another, including even parliaments and rulers. As we will imagine these systems in their new form and see how much we are included in them, we will then understand which changes must occur on the world.
Today it seems like the world leaders have become completely incompetent, unable to make any effective changes for the good in our world. It is so because they were never educated for integral, mutual guarantee, which is an education that teaches about integral systems and the concessions needed to work cooperatively together, for the best mutual benefit of everyone. Hence, they are out of step with nature's laws, and do not look at the world through the true lenses of mutual responsibility. They must first absorb on the inside the feelings, the excitement, the understanding that the method provides, as well as the methods for achieving the mutual connection between us, until they achieve the love that is found there, in the connection between us, and not operate as they do now, where agreements are made by selfish motivation.
Mutual concessions must be included in society's much needed integral educational process. Initially, we must aim to establish good relations, understanding that we cannot run away from one another, and retreat to one side of the planet. Our world is round now. When we sign any contract or agreement, it has to be clear from the start that we are not going to break it, and if we are in mutual guarantee, as we have learned in this course, our goals will be for everyone's good. It follows that on all levels, the problem is really only one of education.

The key to learning mutual guarantee is the abiltiy to act toward relinquishment (concessions).
- We begin with a change in the closer circles and pass gradually to wider circles.
- The rulers of the world lack an education in mutual guarantee.
- The essential problems can be remedied by the implementation of integral education.
"Good education ought to make students well adapted to live in their environment. In the largest ense,"environment" means not only the family setting but also the political, economic and natural environments that surround young people as they grow up today. These environments have changed almost beyond recognition during the last few centuries; in fact, they have changed enormously during the last few decades, and consequently traditional education is in great need of revision."Paper - Learning to Live in Harmony
The first steps to initiate beneficial social development begin by discussing the connection between us.
"People are the solution to the problems that confront us. Technology is not the solution, although it can help. We are the solution--we as generous, open-hearted people who want to use our creativity and caring on behalf of other human beings and all life. Relationships are all there is. Everything in the universe only exists because it is in relationship to everything else. Nothing exists in isolation. We have to stop pretending we are individuals who can go it alone."
Book - Turning to One Another: Simple Conversations to Restore Hope to the Future
For our global civilization "to reach that new level of global ethics, we may need nothing less than a moral revolution in our thinking, a new moral norm, a global moral revolution, to fit the modern problems we are facing today and in the future."Conference Lecture - "For a Better Global Civilization"
"Contributing to the success of a joint project for the benefit of one's group, even at a personal cost, evokes feelings of satisfaction and pride. Failing to do so is often a source of shame or guilt."Book - A Cooperative Species: Human Reciprocity and Its Evolution
